Not every Nose is equal!

Not every Nose is equal!

Lots of myths abound about the French Bulldog and his or her nose. It is sometimes an issue and with brachycephalic dogs it is common but not necessarily to be expected. With careful breeding and attention to detail this can be avoided and whilst you will not always be blessed with beautiful noses on your wee babies you will generally have a good consistency of nice open nostrils.

In saying this we have had to have the ‘ Nares’ surgery done and noted from my personal experience is:

  • the recovery time is swift,
  • the dog appeared to be comfortable.
  • we suffered no complications.
  • no infections,

Whilst your dog is under have your vet check the teeth, soft pallet, assess the airways and basically have a good look under the hood.
